The (essential) beauty routine that works.

By Amelia Perez

The routine, so reviled and avoided for being synonymous with boredom, acquires the category of essential when we talk about beauty. And it is that acquiring good habits on a daily basis and being constant in the care are fundamental tasks when it comes to achieving visibly bright and radiant skin.

In my case, for example, I like to deep clean my skin daily. I always do it with natural products because our skin absorbs everything we apply to ourselves, which is why it is important to nourish it with the best ingredients, just as we do with food every day. I have always put on very little makeup, and less since we are forced to wear a mask, even so, I do a deep cleaning daily and always in the afternoon/evening.

For my skin, the three important steps to follow are: a nourishing soap, a good toner and a natural moisturizer.

The three steps that work.

Step 1.
Clean the skin well.

I start by soaking a cotton ball or washcloth in chamomile infusion or rice maceration, to which I add a few drops of almond, olive or jojoba oil. I thoroughly cleanse the face of impurities, massaging while cleaning and delighting in the aroma of chamomile.

Step 2.
Wash face with natural soap.

Next, I wash my face with our rosehip soap . It is a highly recommended soap for facial skin as it contains wheat germ, jojoba oil, extra virgin olive oil and my precious cocoa butter, very nourishing ingredients that leave the skin smooth and soft. For example, olive oil is one of the best natural moisturizers for the skin and has a very high level of tocopherols, which are very beneficial for our skin. I spend a few minutes washing with soap, calmly massaging the skin with my fingers in circular motions. I distribute the soap all over the face making special rotation in the "T" zone. Once the entire face is clean, I remove the soap with plenty of fresh water. I am always especially careful that the soap does not get into the eyes.

Rosehip oil, almond oil and olive oil are recommended to hydrate the skin well after cleansing.

Step 3.
Moisturize the skin with essential oil.

As you know, our soaps, in addition to cleaning, hydrate. But on many occasions an extra dose of hydration is necessary; I like to do it with oil. I am in favor of using specific natural oils for each skin type. In my case, having very dry skin, rosehip oil, jojoba oil, or sweet almond oil work very well for me. Any of them leaves my skin very nourished. I always buy the oils in my trusted herbalist.
